Service to Boone County

RMTD coordinates with Boone County Transit (operated by the Boone County Council on Aging) to provide accessible public transit service between destinations in Boone County and the Rockford area. Rides connecting RMTD and Boone County Transit take place at RMTD’s East Side Transfer Center located at 725 N Lyford Rd Rockford, IL. If you are a passenger transferring from one service to the other, there is no additional transfer fee.

Boone County Transit’s service hours are as follows:

Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Fares:

• Riders age 12 – 60: $2.00 per one-way trip
• Children age 11 and under: $1.00 per one-way trip
• Adults 60 years & older: Donations gratefully accepted

*Tickets can be purchased as single rides, or as a 20-ride punch card

*Pay fare by cash on the day of your ride (exact fare ONLY) or by tickets.

To reserve a ride call 815-975-9059 (Use your TTY or dial 711) during regular service hours. Reservations are required a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your travel date.

Boone County Transit does not operate on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Thanksgiving Saturday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
